1. Make A Verbal Announcement

We have found that the most effective way to maximize participation is by making a simple verbal announcement. At the start of your meeting or presentation take 30 seconds and give your audience a verbal call-to-action to log on to the app. Below is a great script that you can follow.

“Welcome everyone. We’re going to be using a really cool product called Social Q&A that will allow you to ask and vote for questions that you want answered throughout the event. If you have a mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) please take 30 seconds right now, get out your device and go to joinqa.com and enter the access code [INSERT YOUR ACCESS CODE HERE]. Instructions are also being projected on the screen at the front of the room. Again the URL is joinqa.com and the access code is [INSERT YOUR ACCESS CODE HERE].”

We’ve even created a template instructional slide for you to insert into your PowerPoint! Here's what it looks like:

1. Open the SocialQASlide.pptx file attached below

2. Edit the highlighted text and insert your access code

3. Insert this slide into the beginning of your PowerPoint

2. Include Informational Handouts

If you’re providing informational folders or brochures to attendees, it can be helpful to include instructions on how to use Social Q&A inside the folder or on their chairs.

We've also created a template instruction sheet that you can print and handout to attendees. Here's what it looks like:

1. Open the SocialQAInstructions.pptx file attached below

2. Edit the highlighted text and insert your access code

3. Print and distribute to attendees

3. Submit a question of your own

If you don't see many questions being asked by attendees it can be helpful to get the ball rolling by submitting a question of your own. Trust us, attendees will always have questions on their minds, sometimes they just need a little nudge of encouragement to start asking them.
